President of Taiwan Mr. Ma Ying-jeou in a recent interview to media cleared his stand on making relations with mainland China more cordial. He intends to strengthen economic relations with China within next one or two years. This includes increasing tourism and charter flights between both countries.
His area of main focus is getting advantage of mainland’s financial market for Taiwanese financial services, ending double taxation between both countries and removal of measures which restricts investments. President’s ambitious plans include establishing direct air and sea cargo links between both countries and establishing a system to resolve bilateral commercial disagreements.
Readers should remember that Mr. Ma led his Nationalist Party to a decisive victory in the March elections. Mr. Ma had promised to strengthen the Taiwanese economy through reconciliation.

His main area of focus in near future is normalization of Taiwanese economy and later on getting international space for Taiwan which will be followed by a peace accord with China.
I think Taiwan should take lessons from the history of Indo-China relations in which under cover of friendship what China did with India in Tibet war. Are Chinese worth trusting ? with reference to this history and China’s present Naval base expansion in Asian countries.

Moreover, if Koreans make peace means why it is not applicable Chinese?
